On October 12, Mazovia Province Governor Konstanty Radziwiłł handed out appointments to four new consultants. Among them were Izabela Strużycka, MD, PhD, from the Department of Comprehensive Dentistry MUW, and Artur Białoszewski from the Department of Prevention of Environmental Hazard, Allergology and Immunology UCC MUW.

The 12th season of the national swimming competition From Junior to Olympian has begun at the swimming pool at the Sports and Rehabilitation Center. Nearly 700 young swimmers from almost 70 clubs competed.

PARO is a robot that resembles a small Greenland seal. It receives stimuli from the environment, behaves appropriately to the situation, and responds to its name. These are just some of its abilities. It is used in therapy for elderly people suffering from Alzheimer's disease, among others. Its effectiveness is compared to animal-assisted therapy. Two such devices arrived at MUW in May this year. And on Friday, October 7, students from the "Psyche" scientific club had the opportunity to meet with the creator of PARO.

During the ceremonial Inauguration of the Academic Year, Maciej Miłkowski, Undersecretary of State at the Ministry of Health, handed over a symbolic check for more than PLN 2 million to our university.

Studying is a great adventure, but also a big challenge. Especially for those starting their first year of study abroad. Members of English Division Student Government MUW know this, and every year they organize Orientation Week for newly admitted foreign students.

In the fifth edition of the "Healthy Future - Inspirations" competition, the project "ED Fast Track" of the Children's Clinical Hospital UCC MUW. Among the awardees is Dr. Anna Słowikowska from the Department of Cardiac Surgery UCC MUW.

The Student Government MUW and faculty councils met the challenge! These were three intensive days filled with the most necessary information on learning, student life, functioning within structures of the university. And also an opportunity to integrate students, so much needed before starting the next stage of life.

This prestigious distinction is awarded for original scientific achievements and innovative implementation in the area of cardiology. Our scientist was recognised for a series of publications on new antiplatelet management regimes in acute and chronic coronary syndromes in patients at high risk of ischaemic and haemorrhagic complications.

Second place in the World University Archery Championship is a great success for our student Kamila Naploszek. The competition was fierce and fought until the final bow.

Dr. Andrzej Ryś, Director of Health Systems, Medical Products and Innovation at the European Commission, spoke at MUW today about the most important health regulations in the EU, the latest initiatives and the European Health Union.
