Focus on MUW - 2022
During the April Assembly of IFMSA-Poland Delegates new members of the Main Board and Audit Committee as well as National Coordinators were elected. Among them are Karolina Mikołap and Maciej Mach, MUW students, who are active in the IFMSA-Poland Warsaw Branch. They will start their term of office this October.
Magdalena Justyniarska and Ignacy Górecki from the Faculty of Medicine, with the organizational support of the Fulbright Commission, will participate in a one-year internship at renowned research centers in the United States.
Dr. Sylwia Michorowska from the Department of Bioanalysis and Drug Analysis, Faculty of Pharmacy, MUW, has been awarded the Polish-American Fulbright Commission Senior Award 2022-2023.
Prof. Mariusz Gujski, Dean of the Faculty of Health Sciences of the Medical University of Warsaw presented the Golden Graduate Laurels. They were awarded to those who graduated from the Faculty of Health Sciences with the best grade.
Two procedures performed by the specialists from the Independent Public Clinical Ophthalmology Hospital were broadcast live during the national training conference. They were watched by several hundred ophthalmologists - participants of the symposium. Thanks to real-time transmission they could ask questions about the procedure. The surgeons clarified all doubts and gave expert advice.
MUW students won the second place on the podium and a silver medal in the finals of the Polish Academic Championships of Medical Universities in basketball. Our players confronted the students from the Medical University of Lodz. They scored 41 points against their rivals.
Future physicians from around the world met with medical leaders, innovators, activists and experts who are moving medicine forward. This year's AMSA Convention and Exposition was attended by Piotr Krysiak, AMSA MUW board member.
3 medals in the individual tournament in the "Medical Universities" category and second place in the team tournament in the "Medical Universities" category - it is the result of the performance of our six-person team at this year's Polish Academic Chess Championships. More than 400 male and female students from 50 national universities entered the competition, which took place in early April in Chorzów. Our University was represented by Klaudia Wiśniowska, Anna Rudnik, Damian Koseski, Maksym Petrushkevich, Michal Polak and Krzysztof Wyszomirski.
Małgorzata Bilska, MD, PhD, from the Department of Child Neurology UCC MUW and Rafał Zadykowicz, MD, from the Department of Obstetrics and Perinatology UCC MUW were among the winners of the "Doctor with Empathy" plebiscite. The competition rewards those doctors who are able to give full attention to the patient and create an atmosphere of mutual trust.
Our university took a strong position in one of the latest QS World University Rankings by Subject 2022. In the "Medicine" category, the Medical University of Warsaw was ranked 551-600.
