Focus on MUW - 2022
This modern building won the Residential Architecture 2021 category. It was designed by AFP Architects: Tomasz Flejterski and Alicja Szojda. The McDonald House is located on our campus and offers free overnight accommodations to parents of children being treated at the Children's Clinical Hospital UCC MUW.
In the newly published U-Multirank - a global ranking of universities, MUW "advanced" by one "A" grade in relation to last year's list. This makes our university one of the two Polish universities with the highest number of "very good" notes. The Medical University of Warsaw received them, among others, for the number of granted patents, joint regional publications, and student mobility.
In the 23rd edition of the ranking prepared by the "Perspektywy" Educational Foundation, MUW is the second university with the highest indicator reflecting the position of graduates on the labor market. It is worth noting that we are the only medical school in the top ten of the ranking prepared on the basis of the "Graduates on the labor market" criterion (another medical school is the Karol Marcinkowski Medical University in Poznan, which, however, is ranked only 15th). Thus, we "beat" as many as 48 universities. The first place was taken by the Warsaw School of Economics.
The Presidium of the Polish Accreditation Committee has issued a positive assessment for the midwifery program conducted at our University. It applies to both undergraduate and postgraduate studies. The justification states that studies at the MUW enable the achievement of the assumed learning results and the competences necessary to practice their profession.
The study will include 120 children aged 8-17 years. Will evaluate the efficacy and safety of oral extended-release Budesonide in children with primary IgA nephropathy. The principal investigator of the project is Małgorzata Mizerska-Wasiak, MD, PhD, from the Chair and Department of Pediatrics and Nephrology, UCC MUW.
Nine English Division students of the Faculty of Medicine presented their original research papers at the 30th International Medical Students' Conference. Five of them: Disha Keshwani, Mohammed Sameh, Ishani Khanna, Olivia Gudziewski, and Srishti Bhagat won in their respective theme sessions.
The award winners are: Dr Elżbieta Niemczyk-Cieślak, Dr Agnieszka Jasińska-Nowacka and Dr Tomasz Wojciechowski. The award is given by the Polish Society of Otorhinolaryngologists, Head and Neck Surgeons. It is awarded to authors of the best original papers in the field of otorhinolaryngology.
The Council is an auxiliary body of the Ministry of Health. She was appointed on 26 May this year, and her term of office will last until 31 December 2023. The professor will serve as deputy chairman.
The competition is organized by the National Science Centre. Grants will be awarded to 589 projects, two of which are the work of scientists from our university: Dr. Ceren Eyileten-Postuła and Dr. Piotr Regulski. WUM is also a partner in a co-financed project by the Medical University of Gdańsk.
