Focus on MUW - 2022
During the Polish Academic Swimming Championships, over 900 swimmers from 83 universities from all over Poland competed for places on the podium. Medals were won by as many as 12 representatives of the Medical University of Warsaw. Our students were decorated for their performances in several individual and group competitions. Zofia Sajecka, a student of the 5th year of physiotherapy deserves special recognition, as she won the silver medal in the 50 m butterfly style in the general classification, second only to the Olympian from Tokyo - Kornelia Fiedkiewicz. Thus, she became the official academic Polish vice-champion at this distance.
They call him "a real doctor" or "a doctor by vocation." Dr. Leszek Kraj from the Oncology Clinic of UCK WUM, in addition to high professional competences, also has a wonderful approach to his patients.
The project entitled "Clinical reasoning in nursing/midwifery education and clinical practice" has received funding under the Erasmus + program for 2022-2024. It will be carried out by a consortium consisting of: Medical University of Warsaw, University Colleges Leuven-Limburg, Atlas College Genk, Univerza v Ljubljani, Fundacio Clinic Per a La Recerca Biomedica and Instituto Politecnico de Setubal. The Polish team is led by Małgorzata Stefaniak, MD, PhD, from the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology Education of the Medical University of Warsaw.
Nasze Uniwersyteckie Centrum Kliniczne znalazło się na pierwszej pozycji wśród jednostek specjalizacyjnych aż w pięciu dziedzinach: chirurgii ogólnej, chorobach wewnętrznych, kardiologii dziecięcej, pediatrii, psychiatrii dzieci i młodzieży. A w pierwszej dziesiątce jeśli chodzi o chirurgię dziecięcą, geriatrię, anestezjologię i intensywną terapię, hematologię, neurologię dziecięcą oraz nefrologię. Natomiast Uniwersyteckie Centrum Stomatologii oraz Szpital im. Księżnej Anny Mazowieckiej mogą się poszczycić drugim miejscem odpowiednio w stomatologii dziecięcej i neonatologii.
For the 19th time the Editorial Board of the "Puls Medycyny" magazine have announced the results of their prestigious plebiscite. On the List of 100 of the most influential people in Polish medicine, over 20 are associated with our University!
The Head of the Department of Diabetology and Internal Diseases UCC MUW received the award for special achievements in primary care physicians education. The award is granted by the Termedia publishing house and the family of Prof. Andrzej Steciwko. The winner is selected by the members of the jury board, which includes well-known representatives of the medical community associated with family medicine.
As many as 8 projects from our university were included in the list of beneficiaries of the "Students' scientific circles create innovations" Program. This is the highest score among all universities participating in the competition (only Lodz University of Technology achieved the same result).
The Presidium of the Polish Accreditation Committee (PKA) has issued a positive evaluation of the first and second cycle degree in nursing with practical profile conducted at the Medical University of Warsaw. It will be valid for the next 6 years - according to PKA's powers, this is the maximum possible time.
Man does not live by work alone. Katarzyna Luterek, MD, PhD, Assistant Professor at the Department of Obstetrics, Perinatology and Gynecology UCC MUW became the Polish Slalom Champion. Today begins the Medical Ski World Cup in Austria, where she will represent our country. We keep our fingers crossed!
Maciej Niewada, MD, PhD, from the Department of Experimental and Clinical Pharmacology MUW, has been appointed a member of the National Council for Neurology, acting under the Minister of Health.
