We are starting with postgraduate education and joint two projects, i.e. postgraduate studies "Professional pharmaceutical care" and "Pharmacy in business," said Sławomir Białek, Coordinator for postgraduate education of the Faculty of Pharmacy MUW.
The Center for Medical Examinations has released the statistics from this year's fall session of the Medical Final Examination (LEK) and the Medical and Dental Final Examination (LDEK). Among those taking the LEK, our graduate received the highest score of 192 points out of 195 possible! Our graduates, with an average of 166.20, ranked third in the country.
This event, dedicated to contemporary pediatric dentistry, was both practical and theoretical; in addition to the lecture and poster section, workshop sessions were held as well, including a workshop on communication with child patients. The hosts of the event were: Department of Pediatric Dentistry of the Medical University of Warsaw and the Polish Society of Pediatric Dentistry, in collaboration with the Regional Chamber of Physicians and Dentists in Warsaw (ORL Warsaw) and the ORL Warsaw Committee for Dentists. Rector of WUM became the honorary sponsor of the conference.
The secrets of this unique field of medicine were presented in more detail by Wiktor Paskal, PhD, from the Research Methodology Department at WUM, fourth year plastic surgery resident in Wrocław. The lecture was delivered to students of five high schools in Warsaw, covered by the third edition of the Patronage Program. The lecture took place at the historical Ludwik Paszkiewicz room at WUM Collegium Anatomicum.
The objective of the course was to improve the qualifications of doctors and paramedics working in emergency and in pre-hospital treatment on a daily basis. The first edition of the training took place from September 18 to September 24. It was attended by 50 persons. It took 7 days, with 70 hours of training delivered to the learners.
139 researchers from all over Poland will receive over 5.4 million PLN in funding from the National Science Center for pursuing their research projects under the MINIATURA 7 call. There are two researchers from our school among the winners: Ilona Szabłowska-Gadomska, DEng, from the WUM Research Laboratory - Cell Bank, and Łukasz Dembiński, PhD, from the Gastroenterology and Pediatric Nutrition Clinic at the UCK Clinical Center of WUM Medical University of Warsaw.
Developing the creative and intellectual potential of children is the overarching mission of the Children's University, which has been organizing educational courses for students aged 6-16 since 2007. MUW has been one of the official partners of the Children's University for many years, and our lecturers and student organizations are actively involved in its activities. Each year, the Children's University recognizes the best lecturers, lesson authors, philanthropists and volunteers for their work on behalf of children and education. Among this year's winners were Prof. Zbigniew Gaciong and Prof. Maciej Kosieradzki.
On September 19 and 21 of this year, the Faculty of Pharmacy hosted Warsaw high school students. The young people were able to listen to interesting lectures and take part in practical classes conducted by WUM didacticians. This was a sample of what studying pharmacy and medical analytics at our university looks like in practice.
In the Department of Electrocardiology of the First Chair and Department of Cardiology UCC MUW, a procedure to implant the single-chamber cardiac pacing system AVEIR was performed on September 21 this year . This is a new generation of this type of device and an opportunity for patients in whom the use of a traditional pacemaker is associated with the risk of infection.
So far, the program has included three Warsaw high schools. Two more have just joined: the XXVII Tadeusz Czacki High School and the XL Stefan Żeromski High School with Bilingual Branches.
