Focus on MUW - 2023
They competed against their colleagues from 14 other medical universities from all over Poland. And they succeeded! They took places on the podium both in the individual and team competition.
This is another meeting with a foreign scientist organized by the MUW Doctoral School. This time our guest was Prof. Moritz Schmelzle, head of the surgical clinic at one of the largest centers for surgery and liver transplantation in Germany - Medical School Hannover. He gave a lecture entitled "Academic surgery in the modern era."
This is the 16th edition of the event, during which experts in the field of dentistry share their knowledge and experience. But this is the first time that the conference has been organized by the Faculty of Medicine and Dentistry, which was formed as a result of a merger with the Faculty of Medicine, so the program also included speeches by specialists in other fields of medicine. And as Prof. Dorota Olczak-Kowalczyk, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine and Dentistry, who opened the conference, emphasized, the opportunity to listen to them all is a real intellectual feast.
The meeting was entitled "Practical issues of early neurogenetic diagnosis." Experts from UCC MUW shared their knowledge and experience. Among them were pediatric neurologists, neonatologists, metabolic physicians, radiologists and geneticists. The meeting was held under the auspices of the Center of Excellence for Rare and Undiagnosed Diseases MUW.
On May 15, the Foundation for Polish Science announced the results of the competition in the START 2023 program. The prestigious scholarships will be awarded to 100 outstanding young scientists, who were selected from a pool of 660 candidates. Among the winners is Dr. Monika Gawałko from the 1st Chair and Department of Cardiology UCC MUW.
It was held on May 13 at the Library and Information Center MUW. The speaker was Dr. Vorravee Pattarongvisut, an expert with more than 20 years of teaching experience, a specialist in international business and international marketing issues. He delivered the lecture to the students of the SGH-WUM MBA in Health Care program.
The European Organization for Treatment of Trophoblastic Diseases (EOTTD) is dedicated to optimizing diagnosis, treatment and research in the field of gestational trophoblastic disease - a rare cancer that develops from placental cells. A meeting of EOTTD members was held within the walls of our university on May 11-13. The event was held under the patronage of the Rector of MUW and the Center of Excellence for Rare and Undiagnosed Diseases MUW.
This is the ninth edition of the event. It was held on May 11-12 this year at the University Dental Center. The conference is considered one of the most intensive laparoscopic suturing courses in our country. As in previous editions, the practical part was led by Professor Thomas Carus, a recognized authority in the field of minimally invasive surgery.
Prof. Schmelzle is an internationally recognized authority on minimally invasive surgery and liver transplantation. A meeting with his participation will be held on Friday, May 19. All interested parties are welcome to attend.
