“Medicine is an art and a vocation”. Matriculation of medical students
And also a great challenge and commitment. Convinced the Head of the Faculty of Medicine, Vice Dean for Curriculum and Educational Quality Prof. Aneta Nitsch-Osuch, who led the ceremony of admitting new students to the first year of medicine. Thus, the community of the Faculty of Medicine expanded by 882 people: 732 students of the medical field in Polish and 150 students who will study in English.

- Dear first-year students, you are just becoming part of this community, a community that is not afraid of challenges and that sets the directions for development - said Prof. Rafał Krenke, Rector of MUW, during the inauguration ceremony for the 2024/2025 academic year. The 2024/2025 inauguration is not only the beginning of a wonderful scientific adventure for newly admitted students and doctoral students, but also the symbolic opening of another year of hard, inspiring educational, didactic and scientific work for more than 13,000 members of our academic community.

Our ophthalmology hospital is opened after modernization!
After three years of intensive renovation work, the Independent Public Clinical Ophthalmology Hospital MUW has returned to its historic site on Sierakowskiego Street. Today, it offers patients completely new treatment standards and many unique procedures. The renovated facility features modern rooms and a well-equipped operating theater.
WUM scientists as the co-authors of groundbreaking research in nuclear medicine and particle physics
Prof. Jolanta Kunikowska, Prof. Leszek Królicki and a team from the Department of Nuclear Medicine UCC MUW took part in an innovative research project using a new diagnostic parameter - positronium lifetime - for brain tumor imaging. This was the first “positronium” imaging in the world. The project was led by the J- PET team from the Department of Experimental Particle Physics of the Jagiellonian University, led by Prof. Paweł Moskal and Prof. Ewa Stępień.
