On March 17, the team from the Department of Orthopaedics and Rehabilitation MUW performed the first implantation of the S&N Redapt Cup total hip replacement in Mazovia with augments in the 3D Staple and Slice projection and a Polarstem hip stem.

The Department of Hematology, Transplantation and Internal Medicine at UCC MUW has been accredited to use genetically modified CAR-T lymphocytes by Novartis - Kymriah product.

On March 13 this year, for the first time in Poland, a course entitled "Treatment of the acute phase of stroke with the use of high fidelity simulation room" was held at the Medical Simulation Center of the Medical University of Warsaw.

The list compiled by Newsweek and Statista Inc. included 2,000 medical institutions from 25 countries selected primarily on the basis of standard of living/life expectancy, population size, number of hospitals and data availability.

In the latest 2020/2021 edition of the world universities ranking - University Ranking by Academic Performance, MUW was classified as the best Polish medical university, occupying 7th position among all universities in the country. We were ranked 815th in the global ranking. In the 2019/2020 edition, our University was ranked 8th and 835th respectively.

After conducting an instructor course in PHTLS (Prehospital Trauma Life Support) on February 20-21 this year, the Medical Emergency Department of the Faculty of Health Sciences was the first university center in Poland to be certified by the National Association of Emergency Medical Technicians (NAEMT).

During the last session of the Medical Final Examination, former students of our university led the way among physicians who graduated in the last two years. With an average of 172.23 points, they took first place ex aequo with the representatives of the Jagiellonian University Medical College.

On February 19, in the Department of General, Oncological and Functional Urology of the Infant Jesus Clinical Hospital of the University Clinical Center of the Medical University of Warsaw, for the first time in Poland, sacral stimulation electrodes were implanted under local anesthesia in three patients.

February 22nd marks the 85th anniversary of the official opening of the Medics Clubhouse, seat of the legendary Medics Club, whose activities have forever become a part of Polish culture.
